Jonny
Lee Miller Joins Broadway’s ‘After Miss Julie’
The British invasion of Broadway presaged by
the results of Sunday’s Tony Awards continues apace
in the coming theater season.
Roundabout Theater Company announced that Jonny Lee Miller
(of “Trainspotting” and television’s “Eli
Stone”) will join Sienna Miller, who was previously
announced to star in its coming production of “After
Miss Julie.” In a release, Roundabout said that Mr.
Miller would make his Broadway debut in the role of John,
a valet to the title character played by Ms. Miller (who is
not related to Mr. Miller). The play, written by Patrick Marber,
is an update of Strindberg’s “Miss Julie”
moved from 19th century Sweden to World War II-era Britain.
The Roundabout production will be directed by Mark Brokaw,
and begin previews at the American Airlines Theater on Sept.
18th. Its opening is scheduled for Oct. 22 and its limited
run concludes on Dec. 6. |
