JONNY LEE MILLER INTERVIEWED BY ELLE MAGAZINE


What with all the paparazzi pictures showing Jonny Lee Miller in a tuxedo and crisp white shirt, his wife Angelina Jolie (Daughter of Jon Voight) on his arm, you might expect him to have an annoying mid Atlantic accent and more than a whiff of arrogance. In the flesh; though, he fits none of these stereotypes. He's sporting huge horn rimmed glasses and speaks with a London lilt "I've spent all my life in theatres" he mumbles, staring up at the hackney empires gaudy gold ceiling. "I hated school but always wanted to be an actor. I worked with my dad in the drury Lane theatre - he was theatre company manager." It turns out his grand dad was the actor Bernard Lee, who played James Bond's boss, Q. Jonnys keeping up the actorly tradition then - even his wife Angie's an actress. She's based in New York and 'it's expensive' is all he's willing to say about the relationship. On Robert Carlyle, his co-star in the upcoming movie Plunkett And Macleane, he offers only, 'he invited me to his wedding, so yeah, were good mates. What about Jude Law, another of his actor friends, and also involved in the production company Natural nylon? They plan to make a film, 'The hellfire club. Jonny smiles. "I really want to work with him" he says "He's my best friend. We've been talking about doing this since we were kids"
