What with all the paparazzi pictures showing Jonny Lee Miller
in a tuxedo and crisp white shirt, his wife Angelina Jolie
(Daughter of Jon Voight) on his arm, you might expect him
to have an annoying mid Atlantic accent and more than a whiff
of arrogance. In the flesh; though, he fits none of these
stereotypes. He's sporting huge horn rimmed glasses and speaks
with a London lilt "I've spent all my life in theatres" he
mumbles, staring up at the hackney empires gaudy gold ceiling.
"I hated school but always wanted to be an actor. I worked
with my dad in the drury Lane theatre - he was theatre company
manager." It turns out his grand dad was the actor Bernard
Lee, who played James Bond's boss, Q. Jonnys keeping up the
actorly tradition then - even his wife Angie's an actress.
She's based in New York and 'it's expensive' is all he's willing
to say about the relationship. On Robert Carlyle, his co-star
in the upcoming movie Plunkett And Macleane, he offers only,
'he invited me to his wedding, so yeah, were good mates. What
about Jude Law, another of his actor friends, and also involved
in the production company Natural nylon? They plan to make
a film, 'The hellfire club. Jonny smiles. "I really want to
work with him" he says "He's my best friend. We've been talking
about doing this since we were kids"
